Sure, Colorado has quartz and fools gold. I have never seen it arranged in such a pretty pattern. So this 11 pound rock is coming to my home in Colorado. I found it in a rock shop in Hong Kong, which was crowded with all manner of beautiful spheres, amethysts and other rocks I couldn't identify. They had bigger spheres, but I don't have 80k to spend on a single rock. Estes Park has rock shops, but I haven't seen any this beautiful before. I've never been to one of the Gem and Mineral shows that Colorado Kosak Merry Light has been to; Maybe she'll finally coordinate a trip with me.
If you're not familiar with the saying that was in the header, Newcastle is in the coal belt of England. It was the last place where coal was needed, and my bringing quartz halfway around the world to the mountains of Colorado is similar.
I want to thank my fellow Kosaks who have filled in for me this past month. I am currently in LAX Airport rather unsure what time or date this is, but I will be heading home this evening, arriving a bit after midnight. Which should be okay because my body believes it's 12 hours ahead. I think.
I have made an effort to keep checking the Open Thread as I have been able. I have also been checking emails from various Colorado news and politics sites so I haven't been totally out of touch, but I did expand my experiences which I will write about in at least one upcoming diary, whether it's an Open Thread or full of non-Colorado info.
I did see that the wolves in Colorado did what comes naturally to them, which may get them killed. I saw Lauren Boebert got the stamp of approval / kiss of death from Trump. So hopefully she will lose to Ike McKorkill (sp?) or another Democratif they beat out Ike.. I saw the Republican party of Colorado remains bereft of independent thought. I read about some of the bills Polis signed. So I have material once I get my feet back under me.
First, though, I need to get home, let my puppies remember me and, once my cats get over showing their disapproval that I didn't get their permission to leave for a little over a month, I hope all will be forgiven.
